Healthy Lifestyles

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County consider the health of our members a high priority.  By offering various health-based programs, we are able to help impact our members for a lifetime by teaching habits that are crucial to health.

We offer programs such as Healthy Habits, a national evidence-based program, that teaches our members about the importance of eating right.  By teaching members about the food group and  the impact that they have on the body, we are able to instill change for the better.  We also offer cooking and baking classes that teach kids proper techniques and healthier alternatives.

Physical activity is crucial as well in our efforts.  We want our members to reach their 60 minutes of physical activity a day.  Our Clubs offer physical education related programs to help teach our members crucial skills required to sustain a life long habit of being physically active.

On top of the programs we offer at the Clubs, we also run sports leagues throughout the course of the school year to engage our local community youth.  We offer fundamental sports programs in both basketball and volleyball for elementary through middle school aged youth.
